This year, in the field of ski touring, we will focus on safety. Our events will largely be aimed to learn and improve knowledge about safe ski touring techniques. Elan's Experience events will therefore focus mainly on the adoption of correct techniques that can be used in the mountain world on touring skis. First-class experiences will be shared with us by top alpinists and experienced mountain guides. At the same time, there are also events prepared for the more experienced skiers.

The Haute Route is the most famous touring ski trip in the world. It connects two European mountaineering metropolises: Chamonix and Zermatt. Six days are spent in the highlands with long climbs, beautiful descents, friendly huts, and incredible scenery . The only downside to this great tour is that we're not the only ones who know about it :-).
Several versions are possible, usually, we choose skiing via Verbier. Estimated overnight stays in cabins may change depending on weather and conditions. We usually sleep in Argentiere, Trient, Prafleuri, Dix, and Vignette cabins. On the last day, we take a taxi from Zermatt back to Chamonix. You will be accompanied by one of the best Slovenian mountaineers and mountain guides, Tina Di Batista.
*Included in price: Six days of guiding and the costs of the guide.
*Not included in the price: Transportation Ljubljana-Chamonix and back (organized), sleeping in Chamonix, half-board in five cabins (CHF 65-70/night), drinks and snacks in the cabins, cable cars and taxi transfers (approx. €150). In total, there are additional costs of around €600.

Fundamentally strong touring skiers. Good physical fitness and knowledge of skiing in all types of snow are essential.
Equipment needed:
Complete equipment for ski touring in the glacier mountains. A list of equipment will be sent to registrants.

What is avalanche gear and how do you use it? Is the sticky snow on your base a good thing? How to recognise different types of snow and how to act due to snow conditions?
For answers to these and other questions, we invite you to the beginner course in ski touring. IFMGA guide Luka Stražar will share his knowledge, advice, and experience with you. We will focus on the basics of using tour and avalanche equipment, tips for a successful ascent and descent, and knowledge of snow conditions. The course is suitable for both beginners and those who would like to renew their knowledge.
Elan touring skis, equipped with touring bindings and skins, as well as crampons will be available to all interested parties.
Who should attend:
Maximum of 6 participants, with basic skiing knowledge
Equipment needed:
Touring ski boots (with inserts for pin bindings), hiking poles with wide powder baskets, avalanche probe, shovel and woodpecker, ski touring, or winter mountaineering clothing.

Together with our lead guide Rok Zalokar, IFMGA instructor, who dedicated much of his 10+ years to global research on avalanche safety and educating others on that subject, we have developed a fine-tuned one-day Avalanche Safety Workshop.

The workshop is divided in two parts. The first part is a lecture and takes about one hour and a half. Here we will learn about weather, planning, snow and stability of snow, equipment, terrain reading, rescue protocols, getting to know the equipment. The lecture will be organized in Elan Ski Museum or online via Zoom application for those who can not join us on spot. The other part will take place in the "snow classroom" (outside). Here we will learn about the snow, stability tests, how to efficiently organize rescues. We will be training on Pieps ART station (multi-burial simulation polygon). The practical part outside will be based on individual and team work and will take a whole day.
Always remember that snow is constantly changing and can surprise even the most experienced mountaineers and skiers. Take at least one day every season to renew your knowledge of snow safety with your friends or on an organized workshop!

The workshop is suitable for beginners and experienced back country skiers, who wish to refresh and add some knowledge and practice brefore the winter season.
Equipment needed:
Clothing and footwear suitable for all-day work in deep snow, two pairs of gloves, ski and sunglasses, a hat, an extra warmer layer, a backpack with hot tea and a snack. You can bring your own avalanche trio or let us know and we will prepare it for you.

Tomaž Jakofčič, an experienced mountain guide, has prepared a ski touring course, which is intended for everyone who has had enough of crowds and would like to start ski touring. Program: We will ski for two days in the Julian Alps or the Austrian Lower Tauren, sleep in a cabin under Vršič, where there will be lectures in the afternoon and evening. If we go to Austria, we will sleep in a nice hotel.

Move away from the daily bustle and obligations and focus on us - women. In the company of our friends, mothers, sisters, favourite colleagues, we will ski, enjoy peace, and long chats with good food, drinks, and exquisite views. In addition to pleasant company that will fill us with positive energy, we will focus on skiing knowledge and improving it. Everyone will be able to test Elan Skis and get to know the equipment that is created just for you - the ladies.
First day (Friday):
In the afternoon we gather at the nearby Slovenian ski resort, take our gear to the hotel where we will be staying. Before dinner we’ll get to know each other and give each other some tips that will guide us through the weekend. The rest of the evening is dedicated to enjoying and relaxing in the sauna, socializing, and preparing for the ski weekend.
Second day (Saturday):
After morning coffee and a delicious breakfast, we continue on the ski slope, where we get to know your skiing skills and introduce you to Elan's products. We’ll be accompanied by two highly experienced ski instructors who will share tips for improving your skiing skills and everything that goes with it. They’ll available for all questions, challenges, and ideas with which we promise you will enjoy.
While skiing, we will provide a good atmosphere, useful skiing instructions, as well as collecting unforgettable moments through video and photo content, which each participant will receive as a souvenir.
During lunch we’ll take a short rest, recharge our energy, and have a super fun snow game, which also brings interesting prizes.
Afternoon skiing is again dedicated to enjoying the snow and acquiring skiing skills. We will also prepare a very special formation that will make us laugh, learn, and create great memories.
In the evening we will relax in sauna, do some wine tasting followed by an entertainment program, which will be sweeten with ski theory (according to your wishes). A culinary dinner is also available at the hotel. Dinner will be accompanied with wine and live music, which should remain a surprise!
Third day (Sunday):
Group skiing according to your wishes and knowledge, improvement of your knowledge and a small fun (undemanding) competition which brings great prizes.

Everyone who loves skiing is invited to the company of two experienced ski instructors. Each of them will reach their goals and have a great time, be it a beginner or a top skier. Participation in the course requires a desire to acquire new skiing skills, a desire to rest and relax. Basic skiing knowledge and knowledge of ski equipment is required.

Basic ski equipment - ski boots, poles, helmet (obligated), goggles, winter clothing, gloves. Skis on request, as they are provided for all participants - test Elan W studio skis. A detailed list of equipment will be subsequently provided to participants upon confirmed registration for the event.

Five unforgettable days in a hidden freeride paradise. The purpose of the program is to safely ski as many beautiful lines as possible, to ski as a team, to improve knowledge of avalanche safety and skiing technique, and to have a good time. You will be guided by Matej Kovačič, an IFMGA mountain guide who has spent the last eight winters in the Val d'Anniviers valley. We will ski outside the groomed ski slopes using cable cars. We have as many as 4 ski areas at our disposal, which are on one ski pass. From time to time, we will put the skins on our skis and return to civilization. Maybe we'll strap our skis to our backpacks and climb a ridge that offers steep ski lines, head to a mountain hut and return by ski bus or taxi... The possibilities are endless.
