In words of freesking legend, Glen Plake. “Why would you want to ski a heavy ski? It just makes skiing less fun. But it’s not just about less weight, it’s about putting weight in the right places. The 3D profile makes the ski stronger and it’s 5% lighter than it used to be. The material taken from the sides reduces the swing weight which makes this ski incredibly maneuverable and playful. It's just flat out fun to ski.”

Plake says, “Although Ripsticks are all raised under the same roof and have similar characteristics, each ski has a geometry and profile adjusted to fit the terrain you’re skiing. The 108 features a wide waist and long turn radius for deep snow and wide-open terrain. On the other side of spectrum, the 88 has a shorter turn radius and narrower waist for better grip and control in the conditions you’ll typically find at the ski resort.
